I really have been impressed with the openness of the FW community. I feel very comfortable with everyone (something that never happens)!I Don't know how the community functions within the world just yet. -Julia

The FW comminity at the LAC is once of the most comfortable and supportive communities I have ever known. Since I am not technically a FW student and haven't been in the program before, I'm not sure how this center is different from others. But I feel that the LAC in relation to the world is a wonderful place to study aspects of social and scientific realities that concern the whole world, especially in this time of global economics. I feel the LAC is preparing me to be aware of conditions all over the world and opening up my world view in ways I never knew existed. -Meredith

I see FW as a hand that extends itself for me to direct my learning experiences where I need them to go. The LAC is an extension of what FW is based on a learning community, where professors and students are learning together, from each other and the greater community around us. In my prior FW experiences the community has been created by the students at the center, and the professors were always a part of that, but here the LAC team has a community that is a separate entity from the students, and the students only enhance it when they are here, while also creating their own. I feel as if the FW model of learning is truly an integral part of what the LAC is, I feel that voices are heard and changes are made. The LAC has been a guiding hand in my thesis preparation, as well as a great 'last experience' to leave with. -Alder
